Ancient Times

The fallen snake god descended upon Mount Zagalama. Although the god perished, it left behind two wonders: a skeleton and a giant eye. The power of the virtual space within the skeleton's brain formed an endless ghost cave.

After King Gesar appeared, he united the nations of the snowy region and sent warriors to steal the magical item, the Mysterious Dust Pearl, from the Demon Kingdom. At the same time, the mysterious destruction of the city of Erohai occurred, and the Demon Kingdom was wiped out by King Gesar's mighty army.

During the chaos of war, the Mysterious Dust Pearl fell into the Central Plains.

Three Sovereigns and Five Emperors Period

Around 4500 years ago, the Zagalama tribe arrived at the sacred Mount Zagalama and settled into four tribes.

Hundreds of years later, the tribes discovered the ghost cave within the mountain. The high priest ordered the creation of a jade eye to peer into the cave, but the high priest went blind and died, leading to many deaths from black snakes in the tribe.

To resolve the disaster, the tribe elected two holy figures favored by the gods to lead warriors to kill the snake mother and eliminate the snakes.

Although the snake beasts were eradicated, the disaster was not over. The holy figures received a divine revelation that the ghost cave was a source of calamity, and the jade eye had opened the door to disaster.

After the first holy figure died, he was buried beneath Mount Zagalama.

At this time, a prophet emerged in the tribe, possessing incredible prophetic abilities. The tribe believed this power was granted by the two holy figures and the true gods buried beneath the sacred mountain. Thus, this tribe was also known as the Prophet Clan.

After the prophet's death, he was buried on Mount Zagalama. He had prophesied that eight hundred years after his death, his tribe would have migrated east, and a new tribe would arrive at Mount Zagalama. The Prophet Clan also left revelations for the future tomb raiders.

The prophet, troubled by the curse of the ghost cave, had to leave his homeland and journey east to seek a way to break the curse. They did not take the jade eye that opened the door to disaster with them.

During this period, the Mysterious Dust Pearl circulated in the Central Plains and was likely obtained by the Yellow Emperor.

Shang, Zhou, Spring and Autumn, and Warring States Periods

During the reign of King Wuding of the Shang Dynasty, the Mysterious Dust Pearl and a red robe were found in a collapsed mountain peak. He believed these were relics left by the Yellow Emperor and ordered the casting of a bronze tripod with inscriptions to commemorate it.

At the end of the Shang Dynasty, King Wen of Zhou obtained the sixteen hexagrams but destroyed half of them due to the secret of creation, leaving only eight. He also acquired the Mysterious Dust Pearl, deducing that it symbolized longevity and came from the land of the phoenix, recording this in the Dragon Bone Heavenly Book.

In the Western Zhou period, three significant events occurred. In Longling, a temple was built to worship a human-faced Black Widow Spider, and a massive human-faced bronze tripod was cast, likely by nobles, as only royalty could cast bronze tripods at that time. Nobles also built tombs in front of the temple's cave. Additionally, someone left behind the Dragon Bone Heavenly Book in Longling, which was unearthed in Gulan but later destroyed during air transport.

Mount Zagalama welcomed the third group of people, the Ghost Cave People, who were the predecessors of the Jingjue Kingdom, establishing the Jingjue Royal City there. The Ghost Cave People likely came after the Reincarnation Sect and may have been descendants of the Demon Kingdom or the Reincarnation Sect.

During the Warring States period, the early form of tomb raiders emerged, with many skilled in tomb raiding.

Qin, Han, Wei, and Jin Periods

At the end of the Qin Dynasty, chaos erupted, and the Mysterious Dust Pearl and Legalist bronze mirrors fell into the ancient Dian Kingdom. Due to the turmoil, the ancient Dian Kingdom isolated itself and declared independence from the central government.

In the late Western Han Dynasty, the Red Eyebrow Army attacked Maoling, suffering heavy casualties from the Nine Deaths Shock Armor, but their numbers allowed them to raid ancient tombs, leading to the disappearance of the Shadow Pearl.

The queen of the Jingjue Kingdom appeared, mastering the summoning ritual of the jade eye left by the Prophet Clan and setting up jade talisman mechanisms to control the thirty-six nations of the Western Regions.

The queen's oppressive rule silenced the nations of the West, and the bravest warrior, Prince Gumo, attempted to assassinate her but discovered her secret: anyone who saw her face would be banished to the virtual space.

At this time, the Prophet Clan returned to Mount Zagalama, intending to descend into the ghost cave to find the source of the curse. However, the sacred mountain had been occupied by the Jingjue, and an elder from the Prophet Clan devised a plan to unite the thirty-six nations of the Western Regions. They also had Prince Gumo present a slow-acting poison in the form of a golden lamb to the Jingjue queen, ultimately leading to her downfall. However, when the Jingjue was defeated, everything was buried under the sands.

During the Three Kingdoms period, Cao Cao established the position of Faqiu Zhonglangjiang and Mojin Xiaowei to recruit skilled tomb raiders to gather military funds, creating nine Mojin talismans.

Sui, Tang, Song, and Yuan Dynasties

In the Tang Dynasty, the methods and rules of the Mojin Xiaowei were formally established. They later absorbed the essence of Feng Shui theories from Jiangxi, forming the techniques of Dragon Seeking and Gold Division.

During the Tang Dynasty, nobles built tombs in Longling and discovered ancient Western Zhou tombs, which they abandoned.

After Li Chunfeng's death in the Tang Dynasty, he was buried in the Micang Mountains, accompanied by the Dragon Bone Anomalous Text.

In the Song Dynasty, the Prophet Clan found the bronze tripod of King Wuding of the Shang Dynasty in the silt of the Yellow River, marking the beginning of their search for the Mysterious Dust Pearl.

During the Liao Dynasty, the empress of the Liao Kingdom was buried in Niuxin Mountain, accompanied by many folk entertainers.

In the Song Dynasty, someone was refining elixirs in Bottle Mountain, likely during the reign of Emperor Huizong of Song.

Within the royal family of the Western Xia, there was a secret collection of the Dragon Bone Heavenly Book from the Shang and Zhou periods. After the Mongols destroyed the Western Xia, a general was tasked with searching for the Mysterious Dust Pearl, which was actually the Dragon Bone Heavenly Book. After a long pursuit, the general learned that the Mysterious Dust Pearl was in Heishui City, but it had already been buried. He was unable to find it while on a campaign against the Dongyi. Later, the general died in battle against the Dongyi and was buried in Bottle Mountain, with his experiences in search of the Mysterious Dust Pearl depicted in the murals of his tomb.

During the Jin Dynasty, General Guo Xiamu died and was buried in the Wild Man Valley, with a corpse curse placed upon him. His burial items mainly included a pair of jade discs.

Ming and Qing Dynasties

In the late Qing Dynasty, a figure known as Zhang Sanye emerged, carrying three Mojin talismans. He discovered the lost ancient hexagrams from the Western Zhou and wrote the "The Secret Art of Yin-Yang Feng-Shui in Sixteen Characters." To facilitate his life in the green forest, Zhang Sanye joined Changsheng Mountain.

Zhang Sanye eventually retired from tomb raiding, removing the incense head from Changsheng Mountain and passing the three Mojin talismans to Chen, Jin Suanpan, and Tie Mo Tou. Sun Guofu, who had the Yin-Yang Eye, received half a volume of "The Secret Art of Yin-Yang Feng-Shui in Sixteen Characters."

In the Yellow River, the Iron-Headed Dragon King was stranded, and Jin Suanpan used it to build a fishbone temple in Longling to conceal his tomb raiding activities. Due to the loss of the Diamond Umbrella, Jin Suanpan had to reorder a new one from the craftsman Li at Honeycomb Mountain, which would take a year. Unable to wait, he left behind the broken Suanpan and ledger. As a result, Jin Suanpan died in Longling.

In the late Qing Dynasty, the Northeast Mud Society emerged. This group was made up of bandits skilled in digging tunnels, and for decades they roamed the deep mountains of the Greater and Lesser Xing'an Mountains, raiding many tombs.

Republic of China Period

Zhegushao sought to break the curse of the ghost cave, traveling far and wide to find the Mysterious Dust Pearl.

During the Republic of China, Hu Guohua became addicted to smoking. After experiencing stories involving the White Paper Man, Mouse Friends, and night explorations of the Thirteen Mile Ruins, he became a disciple of Sun Guofu and married a woman named Xiaocui, starting a fortune-telling stall.

Years later, after Sun Guofu's death, he passed on "The Secret Art of Yin-Yang Feng-Shui in Sixteen Characters" to Hu Guohua. Through his studies, Hu Guohua gained many insights and became a well-known fortune teller, advising Ma Liuhe on the Feng Shui layout of ghost hats.

Zhegushao went to seek Elder Liaochen as his master, and together they traveled to Heishui City. Unfortunately, Elder Liaochen died during their journey, and Zhegushao lost an arm in the process. They were unable to find the Mysterious Dust Pearl, but Zhegushao did acquire a Dragon Bone Heavenly Book. He searched along the banks of the Yellow River multiple times for Jin Suanpan but was unsuccessful. Unable to decipher the Dragon Bone Heavenly Book, he became disheartened and, with the help of Father Thomas, emigrated overseas.

Before World War II, British explorer Walter led an expedition into the Taklamakan Desert. In the end, he was the only one to return, but he came back mad, bringing with him photographs and notes that confirmed the existence of the ancient city of Jingjue.

Hu Guohua had a son named Hu Yunxuan, who, influenced by new ideas, ran away from home to join the revolution.

Yang Xuanwei, the father of the Shirley Yang, obtained Walter's notes.

The Era of the Tomb Raiders Trio

In 1950, Hu Bayi was born; in 1951, Fatty was born. The exact birth date of the advisor Yang is not specified, but it is mentioned that she graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy, which began admitting female students in 1975. Therefore, she was likely born around 1956-1958, making her younger than Old Hu.

When Yang was seventeen, her grandfather Zhegushao passed away.

At eighteen, in 1968, Hu Bayi's father, Hu Guohua, died. That year, Hu Bayi and Fatty went to Ganggang camp to work as farmers, during which Old Hu accidentally entered an ancient tomb in Niuxin Mountain.

In the Spring Festival of 1969, Hu Bayi enlisted in the army.

After three months of basic training, Old Hu's squad entered the Kunlun Mountains to dig tunnels, where they encountered fire beetles and saw the nine-layered demon tower beneath Kunlun.

In 1972, Hu Bayi left Kunlun Mountain and became part of the field army, continuing his training and studies.

In 1976, the tomb of the Empress Dowager of Niuxin Mountain was disturbed, and an archaeological team took over the site.

In 1978, the tomb of Li Chunfeng was discovered in Micang Mountain, and Professor Sun deciphered the Dragon Bone Anomalous Text.

Yang Xuanwei went in search of the secrets of the ghost cave in the ancient city of Jingjue and subsequently went missing.

In 1979, Old Hu went to the battlefield but was discharged for violating military discipline. Upon returning home, he met Fatty, and together they went to Beijing to trade records.

In 1980, ancient turtle shells were unearthed in Gulan County, and Professor Sun led an archaeological team to recover them, but they were all destroyed during air transport.

In 1981, Old Hu and Fatty entered Panjiayuan, where they met Big Gold Tooth. Encouraged by him, they became tomb raiders, with their first stop being the general's tomb in Wild Man Valley. Later, at Big Gold Tooth's recommendation, they joined the Jingjue archaeological team.

In 1982, after preparing their equipment, they set off for the ancient city of Jingjue.

After the expedition to the ancient city, Advisor Yang took the mad Professor Chen overseas, while Old Hu and Fatty set up a stall in Panjiayuan.

In Longling, a drought event occurred, resulting in the death of Ma Dazhen's family by lightning, and Li Chunlai found an embroidered shoe.

In 1983, Old Hu received an embroidered shoe from Li Chunlai. Together with Fatty and Big Gold Tooth, they experienced the Longling Mysterious Cave incident, discovering red spots resembling eyes on the back.
