We didn't have time to think too much. The current had already pushed the bamboo raft toward the beast's mouth in the cave. The natural stone beads hanging in mid-air were positioned low, so we quickly bent down, pressing ourselves tightly against the raft to avoid the beads in the middle.
Just as the raft was about to drift inside, the strong spotlight at the front flickered twice and then went out completely. It seemed the battery had run out after prolonged use.
I thought, "Oh no, the battery died at the worst possible time. The cave ahead is really strange, and we can't afford to be careless here. We need to change the battery first to avoid crashing into the rocks and capsizing."
