I ordered a torch and grabbed a rifle, then headed down to the coffin shop's crack with the squad leader. I raised the torch and looked up; the underground chamber was about twenty meters from the coffin shop. The crack was naturally formed, showing no signs of human work. Below was a wide passage, about seven or eight meters high and over ten meters wide, paved with large rectangular stones. Water droplets seeped from the walls, and being in there felt chilling to the bone.

In Gulan's area, the soil is rich, and underground water is rare. Here, just twenty meters down, the water seepage was quite serious, likely due to the unique geography of Shibeidian Village. The basin is low-lying, and with the rainy season, it made sense. If this really is an ancient tomb, the items inside the burial chamber must have been damaged by water.

The earth's fault lines were very clear. Besides the crack we came through, there were many other fractures in the tunnel, suggesting it was on a seismic belt. Fortunately, although the tunnel's structure was simple, it was very sturdy, showing no signs of collapse.
